Located at 53 West Jackson Boulevard in the South Loop area of the city, the Monadnock, completed in 1893, once was the largest office building in the world.

Today, while skyscrapers have grown taller and more technologically advanced, the Monadnock embodies pioneering spirit and architectural innovation. Its significance was recognized in 1970 when it was added to The National Register of Historic Places.
